WhatsApp, earlier this year, unrolled support for a dark theme on its Android and iOS-based apps. While there are many reports that have hinted towards the very fact that the feature would arrive on WhatsApp Web soon, however, the feature is yet to form a debut on the company’s web-based platform.

Now, WABetaInfo, the blog that tracks developments in WhatsApp, has found how around this issue. The blog site has listed a trick using which WhatsApp users can enable dark theme on WhatsApp as they access it from their personal computers and laptops.

It is worth noting that this is often only a short-lived workaround and users will need to use this trick again if they refresh their browser windows or if they access WhatsApp Web from a special PC.

Here is step-by-step guide to enable dark mode on WhatsApp Web:

Step 1:  Login into WhatsApp via the company’s official site.
Step 2:  Right-click the mouse outside the chat and click on on “Inspect” option.
Step 3:  Now you'll see the console and code of the page. Scroll down on the page to seek out the string that says ‘body class=” web”‘.
Step 4:  Within the same string replace ‘web’ with ‘web dark’.
Step 5:  Confirm by tapping on the Enter key and it’s done!
