YouTube may bring comments section on top soon

YouTube is testing a replacement interface where the comments will appear right below the video.

Spotted by XDA Developers, the interface is currently available to only a few users with the YouTube app on Android (version 15.14.33). The web site reports, within the new interface, users don’t need to scroll to rock bottom to comment as they seem right below the video. The comments section appears as a little window that expands once you tap thereon. The implementation appears very almost like Facebook’s.

The comments section immediately is buried on the mobile app. within the current interface, the video player is followed by the outline and engagement tools like, dislike, share, download or save. Next follows is that the list of recommended videos. There’s also related and other topics-based suggestion tabs on the highest once you half scroll the related videos. Once you scroll at rock bottom, you get the comment.

YouTube’s decision to maneuver the comments section back on top is probably going to draw criticism. Back in June last year, YouTube started hiding comments section after reports of rampant abuse and trolls emerged.

YouTube also announced it might disable comments on all videos featuring children.

“Over the past week, we’ve been taking a variety of steps to raised protect children and families, including suspending comments on tens of many videos. Now, we'll begin suspending comments on most videos that feature minors, with the exception of a little number of channels that actively moderate their comments and take additional steps to guard children. We understand that comments are a crucial way creators build and connect with their audiences, we also know that this is often the proper thing to try to to to guard the YouTube community,” a corporation spokesperson had said
