This feature now lets you access your Whatsapp chats only when how fingerprint unlocks the Whatsapp app. For this feature, you need to have Fingerprint sensor availability on your smartphone.

Here is, how to set up fingerprint lock to Whatsapp:

Before proceeding for the process, make sure that your Whatsapp Messenger app is updated or the version is you are using should be 2.19.221 or above. If not Updated, then update it from the play store.

STEP 1:  Open Whatsapp > tap vertical three dots on the top right corner of WhatsApp and  

                 go to Settings.

STEP 2:   Go to Account>then Privacy>then at the bottom Fingerprint lock.
STEP 3:   Turn on the slider on Unlock with Fingerprint.
STEP 4:   After turning on the unlock with fingerprint confirm the fingerprint by giving your 

                fingerprint via the fingerprint sensor.
STEP 5:   Additionally, you can also choose the duration after which you will have to use your 

                fingerprint to Unlock the Whatsapp app again.
STEP 6:   Below unlock with fingerprint there is automatically lock and according to your choice 

                 select immediately or after 1 minute or after 30 minutes.
STEP 7:   Further, you can choose Show Content in Notifications if you want to access chats in

                the notification or not so that you do not need to unlock your WhatsApp app.

And that's how you can set up your fingerprint lock to your WhatsApp messenger app and can stop access from prying eyes to your WhatsApp chats.
